THE YOUTH COUNCIL
Here at Energy Disruptors, we understand the importance of the common phrase “Nothing for us, without us”. Ultimately, the energy future we discuss today will be the energy future of tomorrow's youth, and therefore we have a responsibility to ensure they have a seat at the table.
This is why we are proud to introduce the 2024 Energy Disruptors Youth Council.
OLIVIA RESHETYLO
GOVERNANCE AND SOCIAL IMPACT ADVISOR, MODERN WEST ADVISORY
Olivia is a youth engagement specialist and a leading young voice in the Canadian energy transition. She is an advocate for intergenerational equity and is deeply passionate about helping companies leverage their young talent into decision-making positions as it pertains to the sustainable energy transition. In her current role at Modern West Advisory, as their Governance and Social Impact Advisor, she works alongside organizations to help them integrate sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into their day-to-day operations. She is particularly inspired by the opportunity to bridge the gap between various perspectives about the energy transition to help propel companies forward on their path toward a decarbonized energy future. Prior to joining Modern West, Olivia was Student Energy’s Senior Director of Programs, where she spent nearly eight years with the organization. Olivia pioneered Student Energy’s Program Ecosystem to identify skills and fill knowledge gaps in youth looking to pursue careers in the energy industry. She helped the organization expand, growing from a team of two to over forty employees worldwide. When she is not at her desk, Olivia is out in the field working on the regenerative farm she and her partner co-founded in 2021 to help build a more resilient local food ecosystem.

TRisTAN WAlkER
SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SPECIALIST
Born and raised in North Western B.C. Tristan is passionate about energy autonomy, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. He is committed to preserving the natural playground our world provides so future generations have the opportunity to enjoy it as he has. Originally with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Tristan shifted his focus to sustainable energy with a Masters degree at Carleton University. Building off this passion, Tristan launched an apparel brand while in school to crowdfund renewable energy projects, and then moved to Pincher Creek Alberta to work as a municipal energy manager where he supported the community in saving upwards of $90,000/year in energy costs. Tristan aspires to live by positive leadership principles, foster open communication and teamwork, and thrives on challenging himself professionally and personally. Currently, Tristan is developing a consulting/startup hybrid platform to support community sustainability projects and develop innovative projects. Of note, he is working on a novel community benefit framework for new sustainable energy projects, and enabling individual participation in energy markets through the development of a virtual power plant. Tristan is consistently excited to support those around him and welcomes the opportunity to work with innovators, dreamers, and the next generation of energy disruptors!
